Wharram Percy medieval village walk.

Wharram Percy medieval village walk. - Photographic Walks in North Yorkshire
The medieval village of Wharram Percy sits on a hillside overlooking a beautiful wolds valley. This is a short 3-4 mile walk (depending how far you go along the valley) to the remains of the medieval village of Wharram Percy. Take the B1248 south of Malton. About 1 mile south of the village Wharram-le-Street, turn off onto a small side road (signposted for the Wharram Percy remains). Just past Bella farm there is a small car park.

Take the gate out of the car park (opposite to where you came in). This valley path leads to the remains about 3/4 mile away. After visiting the site, you can continue along the valley with beautiful views from the hillside to join the Chalkland Way in a circuit to turn back along the road to the parking site. To be honest, the path is beautiful up to this point but quite boring after you turn left onto the Chalkland Way. Alternatives are either to walk further along the valley, or turn back along the valley the way you came
